Sauerkraut is one of the most well known fermented foods and has been around for at least 1,000 years. Before refrigeration, fermented foods were a way to get nutrients throughout the winter and was known by sailors to prevent scurvy.

Our classic sauerkraut recipe is similar to what has been made over the millennia. It’s a tried and true recipe that goes well with any dish. While the name suggests simple, the flavor and texture is everything but. Its sour tang can enhance any meal and provides billions of beneficial bacteria in every bite.

Ingredients: organic cabbage, organic caraway seeds, unrefined sea salt

Shelf Life:
While consider shelf stable, we recommend storing your product in the refrigerator to preserve flavor and texture and enjoy within 2 years of purchase.

Open Carefully:
When opening your jar for the first time, open slowly over the sink in case any of the brine leaks out as the pressure is released. Save this liquid as it is very high in probiotics! Catch it with a bowl and pour back into the jar once the pressure is released.

    This is the best sauerkraut I’ve ever eaten, by a landslide. Well, actually, I think the Jalapeño version is even better.
